Brownfield Assessment Grant

Apply for a Brownfield Assessment Grant from the Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) to fund environmental site assessments on properties with known or suspected contamination. This program helps property owners, prospective purchasers, and community organizations evaluate and address environmental contamination to enable redevelopment and community revitalization. The program is currently focused on properties proposed for affordable housing, shelter, and transitional housing projects. Note: Applicants should contact BES staff before submitting a formal application.

The Brownfield Assessment Grant program is currently focused on properties proposed for affordable housing, shelter, and transitional housing projects. While other project types may be considered, priority is given to proposals that address housing needs.
