Critical Home Repair Grant

Apply for a Critical Home Repair Grant to address urgent health and safety repairs for low-income homeowners in Portland. This program provides grants for essential repairs including roofing, plumbing, electrical, heating, accessibility modifications, structural repairs, and weatherization. Applications are administered through community partner organizations, not directly through the City. Household income must be at or below 80% Area Median Income (AMI). Three grant types are available: Mend-A-Home, Emergency Home Repair and Senior Weatherization, and Expanded Home Repair.

Application Process

IMPORTANT: Critical Home Repair Grant applications are administered through community partner organizations, not directly through the City of Portland. Please contact one of the partner organizations listed below to begin your application. This form collects your information for referral to a community partner.

Three grant types are available: (1) Mend-A-Home — general home repairs including mobile/manufactured homes; (2) Emergency Home Repair and Senior Weatherization — urgent repairs and energy efficiency for seniors; (3) Expanded Home Repair — larger-scope repair projects. Grant amounts are determined by the partner organization based on repair needs.
