Hydrant Permit — Nonpotable Water Use
Apply for a hydrant use permit from the Portland Water Bureau for temporary nonpotable water use from a fire hydrant. Permitted uses include construction water, dust control, street sweeping, and tank filling. A Water Bureau-approved hydrant meter is required. Portland City Code 21.16 governs fire hydrant use. Water used from hydrants is nonpotable and must not be used for drinking or food preparation.
