Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permit

Apply for an industrial wastewater discharge permit from the Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) Pretreatment Program. Required for any industrial or commercial facility that discharges wastewater other than normal domestic sewage to the public sewer system. Portland City Code 17.34 and the federal Clean Water Act (40 CFR Part 403) govern industrial pretreatment requirements. Facilities discharging process wastewater, cooling water, or wastewater containing regulated pollutants must obtain this permit.
