Outdoor Tent / Membrane Structure Permit

Apply for a permit to erect a temporary tent, canopy, or membrane structure in Portland. Required under the Oregon Fire Code for tents and membrane structures exceeding 400 square feet (or 700 sq ft with approved flame resistance). Permits are issued by Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R). All temporary structures must comply with fire resistance, anchoring, and occupancy requirements.
