Public Event in Parks

Apply for a permit to host a public event in a Portland park, including festivals, community markets, cultural celebrations, concerts, outdoor movie screenings, fun runs, community gatherings, and other events open to the general public. Public events in Portland parks require a permit when they involve more than 75 attendees, use amplified sound, include vendor sales, serve food or alcohol, require temporary structures (stages, tents, fencing), or otherwise impact normal park operations. Portland's parks host hundreds of community events annually, from neighborhood block parties to major festivals at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Large events (1,000+ attendees) should apply at least 90 days in advance. Coordinated by Portland Parks & Recreation Special Events in conjunction with PBOT, Portland Fire & Rescue, and Multnomah County Health Department as applicable.
