Retaining Wall Permit

Apply for a building permit to construct a retaining wall in Portland per Chapter 24.70 (Clearing, Grading, and Retaining Walls). A permit is required for retaining walls over 4 feet in height (measured from bottom of footing to top of wall), walls supporting a surcharge, and walls within setbacks. Application uses the standard building permit application form. Reviewed by the Bureau of Development Services.
