Sewer Backup Report

Report a sewer backup or overflow in Portland. The Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) operates and maintains Portland's public sewer system, which includes over 2,500 miles of sewer pipes. Sewer backups in the public system are addressed as urgent priority. For active sewer emergencies during business hours, call BES at 503-823-7740. After hours and weekends, call the emergency line at 503-823-1700. If sewage is flowing into a waterway, also contact Oregon DEQ.
