Special Event Transportation Permit

Apply for a special event transportation permit for moving events such as races, parades, and marches that use or impact public streets and right-of-way. For stationary events (street fairs, festivals), a Community Event Permit may be more appropriate. Administered by the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) Special Events Coordination. A $25 non-refundable application fee applies.

  • A $25 non-refundable application fee is required.
  • Applications must be submitted at least 45 calendar days before the event (3 months recommended for large events).
  • Required materials are due 14 days after application submission.
  • For stationary events (street fairs, block festivals), you may need a Community Event Permit instead.
