Private Tree Pruning Permit

Apply for a permit to prune a regulated tree on private property in Portland under Title 11 — Trees. A pruning permit is required when removing more than 25% of the crown of a tree 12 inches or greater in diameter at breast height (DBH) on developed residential lots, or any regulated tree on undeveloped or non-residential lots. Minor pruning (deadwood removal, crown cleaning of less than 25%) does not require a permit.
